As we welcome the fall season, we are reflecting on this past summer – it was one for the books! We were elated to be involved in and support a variety of client and charity golf tournaments across the province by way of event participation and sponsorships – you may have seen our BBQ trailer traveling highway number 2! Thank you to our clients and friends in the energy industry for having us. We look forward to doing it again in 2024.

The #NationalDayforTruthandReconciliation and #OrangeShirtDay take place this Saturday, September 30 ~ a commemorative day intended to raise awareness of the individual, family and community inter-generational impacts of residential schools.

The orange shirt symbolizes the stripping away of culture, freedom and self-esteem experienced by Indigenous children over generations. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is vital to the reconciliation process.

We commit to continuing to build meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities and support new opportunities to create social and economic value within these communities.

In light of the devastating wildfires occurring in Western Canada and the Northwest Territories, we are having a clothing, personal hygiene products and non-perishable food items drive to support the Free Goods Program in Calgary.

The Free Goods Program is currently providing essential items to evacuees from Yellowknife and surrounding areas, as well as to members of our community in Calgary at not cost. Below are the most in-demand items currently:

• Clothing – from baby to adult, all sizes

• Hygiene Products – soap, shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.

• Non-perishable food items

We will collect these items at our Calgary office this week until early afternoon Friday, August 25th, and plan to deliver to the donation centres after that.

Our thoughts are with all of those affected, and we encourage you to help if you can, by dropping off items at our office, or visiting the websites and supporting in any way you can:

August long weekend is also known as Heritage Day in Alberta. And being a company with deep roots across Alberta, we are proud of the diversity and cultural differences within our province and country.

Take time this long weekend to celebrate the province’s heritage!

Our extremely talented fabrication team designed, fabricated, painted, and installed a family of Bison to be included alongside Métis Crossing’s signage just outside of the property in Smoky Lake, AB.

Our Machitech machine was used to precisely cut the steel of the bison silhouettes and the result was beautiful!

Check out these photos of progress of the project.

As part of the Quanta Services family of companies, we are committed to giving back to our communities and contributing to our great nation’s growth and success.

Let’s reflect on what makes Canada so amazing this long weekend and wave our flags high!

National Indigenous Peoples Day is an opportunity to reflect on the rich history and traditions of Indigenous communities and better understand the unique perspectives, experiences, and wisdom of Indigenous peoples.

We celebrate and recognize Indigenous people’s diverse cultures and contributions and commit to reconciliation, healing, and working together toward a better future for all.

On June 7th, A&B hosted our Annual Client Appreciation Golf Tournament, this year in support of Métis Crossing. It was a beautiful day on the greens and we would like to express our most sincere thanks to our clients, vendors, and sponsors for making it so memorable! With the support from all that attended, over $12,600.00 was raised, of which all funds will be directed toward Métis Crossing’s educational programs, workshops, and signature experiences. Learn more about Métis Crossing here. Thank you again!

Here’s to a safe, happy and memorable May long weekend!

This Sunday we celebrate the unconditional love and support that Mom’s give every day.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us!
